
Odd Stemsrud
Odd Stemsrud is spesialiced within EU/EEA and competition law, and provides advice on the strategic and legal communication aspects of competition and EU/EEA law. He has a broad understanding of the drivers behind competition and regulatory intervention both in and outside of Norway. Further, he has comprehensive experience assisting high-profile clients across different industries and jurisdictions enabling them to meet their growth and other commercial success targets. His counsel covers liberalization (general and regulatory internal market), cartel investigations, market abuse cases, state aid, antitrust litigation and merger control.
Odd’s recent experience includes successfully advising a shipping client in the Maritime Car Carrier Case on global and EU aspects, one of the largest antitrust cases in Norway in recent years. In addition, he was a litigator in the most high profile competition case in Norway in recent years, the Henrik Kristoffersen case. He also advises Norwegian and foreign public entities on key strategic decisions, including Her Majesty’s Government (UK) on Brexit matters related to Norway.
Odd is ranked as the ‘go-to-guy’ in various legal directories. He is a contributor to the antitrust committee of the International Bar Association and author of the chapter on Norway in ICLG “Merger Control”.
